Gardendale Pastor Not Guilty in Wife's Murder

A Gardendale pastor charged with murdering his wife was found not guilty by reason of mental defect.   A Jefferson County circuit judge issued the ruling Wednesday in the case of the Rev. Terry Greer.  A psychologist testified Greer didn't know what he was doing when he opened fire at his home last year.  His daughter, who was injured in the shooting, sat quietly in court.  Judge Tommy Nail is ordering Greer committed to a state mental facility. Greer was the senior pastor at Gardendale-Mount Vernon United Methodist Church.
