Luke Bryan takes top prize at American Country Awards

Listen to Luke Bryan on iHeartRadio

Luke Bryan is a back-to-back big winner at the American Country Awards.  The country star earned his second consecutive Artist of the Year honor at the fan-voted event, which aired on Fox Tuesday night.  In accepting the award, Luke said he has so much fun performing for his audience.

Bryan also got the nod for Artist of the Year: Male and Touring Artist, and became the event's most awarded male solo artist with a total of 12 career ACA wins.

Florida Georgia Line is also taking home a lot of hardware.  The duo captured six categories, including Artist of the Year: New Artist and Single of the Year with "Cruise."

Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, and Lady Antebellum also earned multiple awards, while Carrie Underwood, Scotty McCreery, Lee Brice, and Randy Houser were winners as well.

Brad Paisley and Taylor Swift each received special recognition.  Dwight Yoakam performed with Paisley and gave him the Video Visionary Award.  Olivia Newton-John received a standing ovation herself as she presented the Worldwide Artist Award to Taylor Swift, who accepted remotely from Sydney, Australia.

The star-packed event also featured many performances.  Lady A, Florida Georgia Line, Houser, Justin Moore, and Thomas Rhett are some of those who turned in songs.  Darius Rucker and Sheryl Crow teamed up to perform, while ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons joined Jake Owen for a song.  And LeAnn Rimes had trouble finishing her emotional tribute to the late Patsy Cline.

Hosts Trace Adkins and Danica Patrick added some humor to the mix, including bits with an Elvis impersonator and the 6'6" country star dressed as a Vegas showgirl.

Adkins also closed the ceremony on a seasonal note, singing "The Little Drummer Boy."  The 4th annual American Country Awards were presented in Las Vegas, and aired on Fox Tuesday night.
